Delisio, E (2011) Full Tweet Ahead: More teachers using twitter, Education World Retrieved from february 2011 http://www.educationworld.com/a_tech/tech/tech261.shtml

More Teachers Using Twitter
-One way twitter is used is to communicate with students and parents. Also another way is to network with teachers around the country.
Homework Tweet
-One of the teachers from teh article uses twitter to tweet the students homework. He puts their homework assignment on their every night so the student can look to see what exactly they have to do that night. If a student has their cell phone connected to twitter, than the student will recieve a text message of what exactly they have to do.
Math, earthquakes, surveys
-In the article it talks about a school in Florida, and how the teacher used twitter to not only get to know her students, but to also integrate some math problems in their conversations. In Kansas the teacher created a twitter feed connected to NASA. Sutdents receive updates about volcanoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes throughout the world. The teacher does this in order to make the cureent events around them come to life for the students. Another teacher in Michigan uses tweducate in order to get her first graders to communicate with each other about math porblems. Twiducate is a twitter designed for education. This site teaches children online skills and personal responsibility.
Chatting, finding friends
- Some classrooms are using twitter for students to be chatting with each other. Twitter was a safe place for this students to get to know and except each other for who they are, making more friedns.
Despite concerns, full tweet ahead
-In the begining of this process many parents were concerned about how their students safety is at risk. The teachers responded with the fact that she is managing the twitter site every night, and how it is connected to her email, so that she is getting constant notifications as to who is trying to follow and what not.

Blogging in the Classroom

Warlick, David (2006) A day in the life of web 2.0, Tech and Learning, February 2011.
Teachers are blogging about current assignments and what lessons they are teaching in class. Some teachers are using it to to integrate lessons. For example in the article it talked about an health and science teacher who came together to make a lesson that pertains to both class subjects. So in health that day the teacher will incorporate some science in his or her lesson, and at the same time the science teacher will incorporate some health in his or her lesson.
On the other hand some teachers are having students blog about articles, or class assignments/homework. After one student has blogged if they are working on a group project it allows other students in the group to communicate when they are at home. Makes doing homework with a group a lot easier. This process would also allow other students to see what exactly they are suppose to be doing if  they are lost or confused. Students can use their classmates as an example.
Some teachers are also using class wiki's. The teacher from the article uses one to encourage his students, and to get them to take more responsibility for their learning. He also records class discussions, making it possible for parents to hear the lesson and become more involved in their child's education, and students to go back and re listen if they are confused on their homework.
The whole school is using this Web 2.0 system. While some students maybe working on their assignments at the same time their parents could listen to what they discussed in class that day. At the same time another teacher can be reading the weekly blogs, or even writing a blog of their own. while the principal is writing out the calender for the community to see. This system also allows the superintendent to become involved within his or her schools.

k-12 Technology Trend in 2010 http://thejournal.com/Articles/2009/12/10/5-k12-Technology-Trends-for-2010.aspx?Page=1

Evolving technology in Education.
Ebooks are evolving and more and more people are begining to use them. At the speed they are evoling text books will soon be on them, making backpacks much much lighter for students. There are also small cheap portable netbooks, that will soon be in the classrooms to lessen the gap between students who have a laptop and those who do not. "Ineractive white boards" engage students to get out of their seats and up and learning. Ipods are also a big part in the education system today. Often they are used for math activities, and spelling tests.

In education technology is an increasing changing and influecing what and how teachers are teaching their students. Someday i would like to use an ebook, but i don't know if i would actually enjoy them, i would prefer to stick to reading from actual books, because than i can actually feel the progress i am making, or not making. On the other hand though text books on ebooks would be a very benefical investment, because it would make my load so much easier. As for the small cheap portable netbooks, i did not quite understand where they were going with those. It would be nice to have lap top for students expecially those who can't afford their own, but i didn't understand if the article was talking about older students, or younger students. Interactive white boards, are very helpful. This white board makes it possible to get the students up from their chair and play the role of the teacher as they are learning at the same time. Next is the ipods, i don't know so much if i agree with having ipods in the classrooms for all of the students. But at the same time i think it is a really neat idea to use the ipod as a learning tool.

Multi tasking may be creating people who can not actually think when it comes down to it. Multi tasking is making for very distracted people. And test show that we are using alot of a decison making part of our brain while surfing the internet. But while reading a book we are not using nearly as much of our brain.
